Selection of place for stairs depends on particular layout of a building. The best place is a spacious hall or hallway, where stairs will be a dominating structure decorating interior of premises. Spatious hall with wide floor aperture in the middle is favourable for arrangement of big stairs with wide flights and stair landings. Such stairs will not only decorate premises, but will also provide easy and safe movement.

If stairs are mounted in the corner of the room, in this case it is reasonable to make it rotating along walls, with landings between flights.

A small aperture in the floor deck, and failure to broaden it will surely lead to the solution to mount compact stairs with narrow flights of stairs. This solution can be also achieved in the result of absence of free areas at the ground floor and possibilities of free approach to the stairs.

Intensity of stair using will have a decisive meaning in choosing sizes and construction of stairs. If simultaneous movement of several people in the opposite direction or movement of large items by stairs is expected, stairs shall be of respective width. Stairs used from time to time shall not be compulsory wide.
