It is important to provide correct maintenance of stairs to make it serve faithfully! Stairs require approximately the same maintenance as parquet maintenance.

How to maintain appearance of stairs for home?

Stairs maintenance shall be provided on a regular basis. One shall exclude ingress of moisture on lacquered surface of stairs, dust shall be wiped off with well-squeezed cloth. If large volume of water has got on the stairs (for example, in case of heating system breakage), do not forcely dry stairs with the help of any heating devices, make stairs get dry naturally and invite a specialist. After excessive moisture, creaks can appear, but they can disappear after drying out.

It is important not to switch off heating in the room with stairs in cold period even if people do not live in it.

After accidental mechanical damage stairs (if not tinted) can be restored with own means.

To do this one shall know the type of lacquer used by manufacturer, smooth the surface out and put lacquer on it. This advice is applicable to stairs with average price. As for expensive stairs, it is better to repair them with the help of specialists. The easiest place to restore lacquer on stairs is near steps as they can be easily taken away.

In all cases one shall use special carpets with plastic inserts (there is great variety of them).
